It's the 28th of December. What does that mean? Yes, yes it does. It means that Christmas (and the weekend) are officially over. I still can't believe that Christmas is done. For me, the weeks leading up to Christmas were exciting and full of anticipation for the holidays. I expected the wait to be long and agonizing, but in reality, it felt like it was over in a snap. Now, lights are being put away, trees are being taken down and decorations (and candy) prices are being slashed to get ready for the new year. But wait! That doesn't mean you have to completely abandon your Christmas spirit. I find that channeling your holiday spirit into your wardrobe is the best way to soften the blow of post-Christmas depression.
If you were asked, what colors do you associate with Christmas? Many people would say red. One of my favorite handbags in my collection is my Michael Kors Selma Satchel. I absolutely love this bag. The color, the style and the quality of this bag is amazing. Its vibrant red color draws people's attention while not screaming neon. The gold accents add the perfect touch of glamour to its profile. The quality on this bag is stunning. It's leather is thick and holds the original shape of the bag regardless of its contents. This Selma satchel is a classic style that has the Michael Kors originality as well as the versatility depending on its owner. It can be held by using the top handles at the crook of your arm or by its removable cross body strap that fits perfectly in the bag when not needed.
I would like to say that this bag is big. Sure it houses a lot of things, but if you were in the market for a nice cute bag to fit just a few of your things in, this may not be the one. But if you're okay with a medium-large sized bag, go for it. It's also not the best bag to use in the rain or snow. This is because when you zip the bag up, there are two openings on top of the bag where the sides jut out.
But despite these setbacks, I still love this handbag. I don't reach for it every day though. I like to use it once in a while when I'm wearing clothes that mostly consists of dark colors. That's because I don't like wearing too many colors at a time. Pairing this bag with darker colors really helps it become that pop of color to complete your outfit.
No matter if Christmas color slip is a handbag, sweater or coat, bring it out after Christmas and it may continue to be a staple in your wardrobe.
